José Seijas and his foregoers had a bright future in the cigar industry, but he didn’t know until 1974. Hired as an engineer by Tabacalera de García, developed into an administrative assistant of world-renowned brands, and culminated as a master blender for one of the largest cigar companies in the world. His tenure was over there, but not in the industry he had accomplished so much in. A year into retirement, José Seijas came back to the cigar world alongside his sons Enrique and Ricardo with a brand called Matilde to convey his passion towards quality and consistency in his product and the precise attention to quality blending.
