Despite his Cuban origins, AJ Fernandez has forged his success in Nicaragua, building a couple of factories and farms where he produces a large number of world-renowned premium quality cigars, including the New World Cameroon.
This is a medium-bodied cigar and is first Cameroon wrapped release to come out of the AJ Fernandez estates in Estelí. The cigar features entirely Nicaraguan long-fillers and binder, which as the name suggests, are then wrapped in a Cameroonian wrapper. Offering notes of cocoa, cedar, spice and coffee, this cigar offers a perfectly balanced mix of sweet and spicy.
The Cameroon version presented to us by this AJ Fernandez line shows a darker medium brown coloration than the many other Cameroon wrappers on the market, with a fair amount of staining and a thin wrapper of oil running down the stick.
Before lighting, this cigar offers us a quite comfortable dry extraction, delivering notes of wood and natural sweetness to the tobacco. Once lit, it maintains perfect heat levels to optimally manage the experience from start to finish. An experience the cigar enthusiast will love.
