Dr. Stefan Lampert has come a long way since his inspiration to transition a tailor-made concept from the consumer’s feedback to the cigar world. Interesting enough, the first line born from this concept was My Cigar Lab, the cigar brand that encompasses the Edicion Clasica Don Patron. A 6×52 toro cigar that promises to deliver on original-feedback commitments and one that has been updated a few times. The latest is not a blend or profile update, but a ten-count cigar box adaptation with updated packaging (the texture on the secondary band is pretty cool). The cigar is wrapped by an aged Ecuador Connecticut Shade wrapper, binded by a three year old binder from one of the most notorious tobacco growing countries in the world.. You guessed it, Ecuador once again. Lastly, including a blend of aged tobacco (5 years) from the Dominican Republic and Peru. The result is a phenomenally balanced and nuanced cigar, with a flavor profile dominated by a creamy texture, a grassy/musky taste, and some intermittent cedar-wood hints.
