Mulberry & Spring
We’re thrilled to release our collaboration with Davidoff, Camacho & Avo’s Diadema Cigars de Honduras factory, a world class cigar institution home of many of the company’s most successful blends.
Formally: a collaborative extension of the Camacho Scorpion line with our own tweaks thanks to Fabian Barrantes, Eddy Guerra, and the factory. We were able to start working on this project last summer and decided on the final blend that went into production in September of 2021.
The name? Our founder Alexander Berezowski was standing in the corner of Mulberry & Spring in New York City when smoking what was to be confirmed as the final blend for the maduro extension of the brand. “It sounds like a made up atmosphere since I’m actually writing this and acting like I’m quoting myself, but it was truly just one of those moments when you’re disconnected with most of your immediate surroundings and just focus on the elements that are feeding the immaculate energy that make the cigar you’re smoking at the time permeate in your memory. A few of the things that I remember in that moment include the coffee that I had just finished before lighting up, the phenomenal 69 degree SOHO weather, and the signs that indicated I was standing in the corner of Mulberry and Spring. I finished the cigar, and texted Fabian letting him know we had the final blend and blessing it with what I thought was an ideal name.”
The latest My Cigar Pack MicroBrand is mostly blended by the Diademas team and the involvement of the aforementioned individuals, as what they had laid out as a foundation was superb and we only had to implement minor changes. The cigar always carried a San Andres Wrapper, yet we were able to negotiate an Ecuadorian Habano binder that would stabilize the sweetness and made all the difference when mingled with the Nicaraguan and Honduran fillers.
The Mulberry & Spring Maduro provides a chewy, dense smoke that generates consistent and balanced flavors of dark chocolate, toffee, and undertones of earthy mineral flavors that make justice to the complexity which levels the initial sweet flavors. Some undertones of cherry and dried fruits could be perceived towards the end of the cigar.
Thank you to all who made this possible and support the products we are lucky to develop with the world’s most renowned brands and factories. Enjoy Mulberry & Spring the same way I did that day.
