“You’re my boy blue,” is what I (AB) told my main home slice Litto Gomez Jr. when I had this cigar for the first time. I had it again and was enamored by it, convinced it was already in the top of my LFD cigar list. Litto Jr’s first blend is a sequel of La Nox (latin concept for the moon), which is big brother Tony’s prized blend (prior, of course to the coveted LFD Golden Bull) and who complimented Jr. in the development process. Solis is a Latin denomination for the word Sol, which translates to Sun and serves as an esteem to one of the most crucial components in the tobacco plant growing process, especially important to the house of Ligero… The 6.5x50 Toro Extra cigar is covered by an Ecuadorian Habano Wrapper, hovering over an Ecuadorian Sumatra binder and a blend of Dominican tobaccos grown by the Gomez family in their farm in the Dominican Republic. Solis is impeccable from start to finish, extremely complex yet with very harmonious changes throughout the smoke. The flavor profile found in Solis can be described as the perfect amount of spice over a mainly earthy base that reminds you of the rising aroma after light rain-showers. Some complimenting undertones include espresso-foam, dark chocolate, and cashew butter.
